WHEREAS the proposed spending for 2016 for Non Revenue Vehicle Replacement is $1.5 million, to be funded by way of the Transit Capital Reserve; and WHEREAS staff has advised that the lifecycle replacement for some of these vehicles can be extended by one or two years, reducing the need for this budget year by $700k; and WHEREAS it is fiscally prudent to budget for what is needed in a given year; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2016 Capital Budget for the Transit Commission (p. 4) be amended such that Project 908235 – Non Revenue Vehicle Replacement – 2016 be established at $800k, with $700k being returned to the Transit Capital Reserve .
