Built Heritage Sub-Committee

That the Built Heritage Sub-Committee recommend that Planning Committee recommend that Council: 1. Approve the application to alter the Bethany Hope Centre, 1140 Wellington Street West, according to plans submitted by Barry J. Hobin and Associates Architects Inc. on September 8, 2016, attached as Documents 4, 5, and 6 and conditional on the approval of other required planning applications, with the exception of the elements relating to the north-facing front windows; 2. Refer the issue of the retention and restoration of the north-facing front windows back to staff for examination and direct that staff bring recommendations back to the next meeting of the Built Heritage Sub-Committee; 3. Issue the heritage permit, with the exception of the north-facing windows as indicated, with a two-year expiry date from the date of issuance, unless extended by City Council prior to expiry; and 4. Delegate authority for minor design changes to the General Manager, Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development Department.
