WHEREAS the plans and studies associated with the Site Plan Control application for an addition to the Château Laurier will become available for a 28-day comment period today, February 14, 2017; and WHEREAS staff have developed a dedicated web page and new online consultation tool to facilitate the public’s engagement in this high-profile application process; and WHEREAS it would be prudent to present a preview of this web page and consultation tool to the Planning Committee in advance of the comment period’s commencement, notwithstanding that the matter will also be considered by the Committee of Adjustment, and the staff report and final recommendations on the application will be presented to Built Heritage Committee and Planning Committee with an opportunity for public delegations; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Committee approve the addition of a staff demonstration of this web page and consultation tool for consideration at today’s meeting, pursuant to section 89. (3) of Procedure By-law 2016-377, in order that Committee may ask questions of staff; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Planning receive the associated report from staff regarding this demonstration, to be posted to the City’s website with the Minutes contents of this meeting, in keeping with Section 83. (4) of the Procedure By-law.
