That the following Motion be added to the Agenda pursuant to Subsection 89(3) of the Procedure By-law: WHEREAS the City of Ottawa has entered into an agreement with Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) to offer Ottawa homeowners protection plans to help cover repair costs associated with their portion of water service and sewer/septic lines; and WHEREAS there have been no opportunities for the Environment and Climate Change Committee to discuss this ongoing program and ask questions of staff during this Term of Council; and WHEREAS the Committee Chair is requesting that staff be available at the October 17th meeting of the Environment and Climate Change Committee to answer questions from Members of Committee on the current status of the Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) Program; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Environment and Climate Change Committee discuss the Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) Program at its meeting of October 17, 2023 and staff be authorized to provide a verbal update to Committee on the current status of the program.
