BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Transportation Committee waive the Rules of Procedure to approve the addition of the following item for consideration by the committee at today’s meeting, pursuant to subsection 84(3) of the procedure by-law (being by-law no. 2006-462), as it is necessary to defer the project before more planning and design work is undertaken: “Deferral of the Botsford south sidewalk”

WHEREAS the City is implementing the construction program required by the Council approved Pedestrian Plan; and WHEREAS the Plan calls for the construction of a sidewalk on Botsford Avenue South; and WHEREAS the Community priority for sidewalk construction is on Saunderson Avenue; and WHEREAS the Community does not believe that construction of the sidewalk on Botsford Avenue South is required at this time; and WHEREAS the best opportunity to generate community support for sidewalk construction is for the broadest understanding of connectivity; and WHEREAS the best demonstration of community connectivity is when sidewalks on both Botsford Avenue South and Botsford Avenue North can be designed and constructed at the same time; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the sidewalk design and construction for Botsford Avenue South be
